BLACK BEARS ADD THOMPSON, ST. ONGE FOR 2022-23 SEASON

BINGHAMTON – The Binghamton Black Bears announced today that the club signed forwards Austin Thompson and Ben St. Onge for the 2022-23 season.

Thompson, 26, just finished four years at Davenport University where he recorded 136 points in 88 total games. The Leamington, ON native finished second in team points during the 2018-19 season and led the team in goals, assists, and points his senior year. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound forward played NCAA Division-3 hockey for University of Wisconsin-Superior during the 2017-18 season.

St. Onge, 20, joins the Black Bears after spending the last two season with the Pueblo Bulls of the United States Premier Hockey League. The Quebec, QC native served as the assistant captain during the 2020-21 season where he put up 34 goals and 38 assists for 72 points in just 48 games. He also added three goals and three assists in five playoff games. St. Onge was the team’s captain last season and recorded 29 goals and 37 assists for 66 points in 45 games, while adding seven points in four playoff games. 

“Austin Thompson and Ben St. Onge are great additions for the Black Bears heading into the 2022-23 season,” said Head Coach Gary Gill. “Both players have tons of offensive skill and earn their success with hard work.”
