BLACK BEARS RE-SIGN GJURICH, YATES

BINGHAMTON – The Binghamton Black Bears announced today that the club has re-signed forwards Tyler Gjurich and Gavin Yates for the 2022-23 season. 

Gjurich, 30, recorded 55 goals and 43 assists for 98 points last season with Binghamton in just 48 games. The Hatfield, PA native also had four goals and five assists in three playoff games against Danbury. In addition, Gjurich was named to the league’s Second Team All-Star Squad. In 271 total Federal Prospects Hockey League regular-season games, the right-shooting forward has 267 goals and 247 assists for 514 points. 

Yates had 17 goals and 24 assists for 41 points in 34 games this past season with the Black Bears. The 27-year-old forward also helped capture a Commissioner’s Cup with Watertown during the 2017-18 season and was named Playoff MVP. In 110 regular-season FPHL games, the Plymouth, MA native has 73 goals and 65 assists for 138 points.

“We are thrilled to have Tyler and Gavin back in Binghamton for the 2022-23 season,” said Black Bears Head Coach Gary Gill. “They played a vital role in the team’s success last season, and we think they can make a bigger impact coming up this year.”
