BLACK BEARS SIGN KIRKBY, LYNES

BINGHAMTON – The Binghamton Black Bears announced that the club has signed forward Tyson Kirkby and defenseman Maverick Lynes to contracts ahead of a three-game weekend.

Kirkby, 24, joins the Black Bears after playing in 27 games this season in the Southern Professional Hockey League with Evansville and Fayetteville. In 17 games with Evansville, the 6-foot-0, 190-pound forward recorded five goals and six assists for 11 points. Kirkby also had one goal and four assists in ten games with Fayetteville. Prior to starting his professional career, the Prescott, ON native played three seasons SUNY Oswego and tallied 23 points in 44 games. 

Lynes, 25, completed his final season with University of Southern Maine and served as the team’s captain in the 2020-21 campaign. In 104 games, the 6-foot-0, 170-pound defenseman recorded eight goals and 29 assists. Lynes finished tied for the team lead in assists among defensemen in the 2018-19 and the 2021-22 seasons.
