BLACK BEARS SIGN THREE; BECKER RETURNS

BINGHAMTON - The Binghamton Black Bears announced that the club has signed forwards Danny Vanderwiel and Emil Strom, and goaltender Trevor Micucci. In addition, defenseman Tyler Becker has returned from Macon (SPHL).

Vanderwiel, 26, served as the assistant captain for the Ontario Hockey League’s Plymouth Whalers in the 2014-15 season. In 197 total OHL games, the Illinois native recorded 22 goals and 25 assists for 47 points. 

Strom, 26, joins the Black Bears after playing the past three season in Sweden with Sollentuna HC. In 101 games, the Uppsale, Sweden native put up 29 goals and 36 assists for 65 points. 

Micucci, 24, played the 2019-20 season with Buffalo State College where he has a 4-2-0 record, 2.28 goals-against average, and a .918 save percentage. Prior to going to Buffalo State College, the Hamburg, NY native split the 2017-18 season in the North American Hockey League with Minnesota and Amarillo. In 86 NAHL games, Micucci won 38 games, had a .915 save percentage and a 2.80 goals-against average.

The Black Bears return home tonight against Delaware at 7 p.m. and tomorrow against Danbury at 7 p.m. Tomorrow is Teacher Appreciation Night with $8 tickets for all teachers!
