KYLE POWELL RE-SIGNS WITH BLACK BEARS

BINGHAMTON – The Binghamton Black Bears announced today that the club has re-signed defenseman Kyle Powell for the 2022-23 season.

Powell, 28, is coming off the best professional season of his career, recording 76 points in 49 games played. He also added five points in three playoff games against Danbury. The native of Ajax, ON was named the league’s Defenseman of the Year, selected as a First Team All-Star, recorded the most assists in the FPHL with 67, and the most points in the league by a defenseman. 

“This is a key signing for the Black Bears,” said Head Coach Gary Gill. “Kyle had a remarkable season last year in Binghamton. He’s also key component to the power play and we look forward to having his leadership back for the upcoming season.”

Powell has been selected as Defenseman of the Year and recorded the most points in the league by a defenseman for four seasons in the FPHL and helped Watertown capture the Commissioner’s Cup in 2017-18.

In 262 regular-season FPHL games, Powell has 48 goals and 262 assists for 310 points.
