MJ MAERKL RE-SIGNED BY BINGHAMTON

BINGHAMTON – The Binghamton Black Bears announced today that the club has re-signed defenseman MJ Maerkl for the 2022-23 season. 

The 6-foot-0, 207-pound defenseman joined the Black Bears during the 2021-22 season and recorded one goal and nine assists in 30 regular-season contests. In 67 total games in the Federal Prospects Hockey League with Binghamton and Danville, the Binghamton native has two goals, 11 assists, and 191 penalty minutes. 

“We are so excited to bring back MJ for the upcoming season,” said Head Coach Gary Gill. “He’s a Binghamton native, a fan favorite, and he brings a lot of toughness and resiliency to the Black Bears.”

Prior to that, Maerkl attended Morrisville State College from 2014-16 and tallied eight goals and 12 assists in 39 games.
