Stubbs 6pt Night leads Black Bears

Columbus, GA - The Binghamton Black Bears got back in the win column on Saturday night in Columbus.  CJ Stubbs led the way with 6pts (2g, 4a) in a 8-2 effort for the Black Bears.

Determined to split the weekend series with Columbus, Binghamton got out to a 3-0 lead thru the first 25 minutes of the game.  Carter Jordan started the scoring, Captain CJ Stubbs tallied his second point of the night with a goal and Ivan Bondarenko capped off the hot start with a power play goal.

Columbus broke the scoring run after three goals from the Binghamton forwards but Stubbs was able to reclaim the three-goal cushion.  Sam Dabrowski got the "monkey off his back" scoring his first as a Black Bear, making it 5-1 Binghamton after two periods.

The River Dragons started the third period with a goal, but were unable to generate any more momentum.  Chance Gorman added a pair of goals, and the night was capped off with a final goal from Bondarenko.  Stubbs finished with 6pts in the game, highest for a single-game in his Black Bears tenure.  Graham Burke made 27 saves, securing his second victory in his professional career.

Binghamton improves to 4-1-0 thru five games.
