by Brooks Hill

BINGHAMTON - The Binghamton Black Bears announced on Friday morning, the re-signing of defenseman, Donald Olivieri, ahead of the weekend matchups with the Danbury Hat Tricks.  The puck-moving defenseman recorded 12 goals and 15 assists in 15 games during the 2022-23 regular season.

Olivieri joined the Black Bears organization last February, playing in the required 15 regular season games in order to be eligible for the playoffs.  In the postseason, he recorded 3 goals and 3 assists along with appearing in all five games against the Wolves and Hat Tricks.

Last season, Olivieri finished with a points per game average of 1.8, the best among defensemen. He added 6 power play goals, finishing the year with a +/- rating of +18.

"The Don" returns right before an important middle and final game of a three-game stretch against the Danbury Hat Tricks.  Binghamton was able to win 6-2 on Wednesday night to secure the first win of the mini-series.
